Volunteer
Your help is needed and appreciated!
Help us maintain and restore hiking trails in and around Ouray County. We work with the Uncompahgre National Forest and others to keep some of America’s most dramatic and beautiful trails in shape. To participate, join the Ouray Trail Group, then sign up for one of the scheduled trips below, and join our email list to hear about other single-day work opportunities.
2022 Backcountry Trail Work Trips
Trail Work Weekends and Weekdays! OTG has an exciting summer schedule of backcountry trail work trips! All volunteers are welcome to join us on these trips lasting from 1 to 3 days. Most multi-day trips will have pack horse support to carry camp in and out. Volunteers can expect work on some of the most scenic trails anywhere in Colorado, removing down trees or encroaching brush, repairing trails and erosion problems, including the camaraderie that comes with meeting new friends and helping keep our public land trails safe and sustainable. These backcountry trips require reservations and space may be limited.
Click the link below to register for each backcountry trip. This will allow us to plan for horses and tools. Contact John Hulburd: 360-643-1593. wholebird@gmail.com for additional information.

If you just love to hike, this is the group for you! Email Jill Parisi for information at parisistack@yahoo.com.
