Corbett Canyon Work Complete!

Forest Service horse packers were scheduled to pack in the team/s overnight camp, but when they were called away to support wildland fire crews elsewhere the team did not flinch.  They backpacked in their overnight camp, along with 2 chain saws, fuel and oil, and hand tools.  They cleared 50 down trees, pruned encroaching brush and saplings, and rebuilt the trail tread in the canyon and a nearby ravine where the trail is periodically damaged by floods and avalanches.  On the way in and out, the team also cleared trees and brush from the Corbett Trail and the Corbett-Dallas shortcut Trail.  And while they were at it, the team also gathered extensive items of large trash left by previous campers and stashed it near the trail, for Forest Service horse packers to remove when they return from fire duty.
